How the work is scoped
Boots on the ground, not slideware.
Every engagement starts the same way: get on the floor, find the root cause, and put a number on it. From there, the shape of the work depends on what the business needs.
Ways I engage
- 100-day diagnostic assessment
- For a new PE sponsor or board that needs an independent read on why an operating unit is underperforming — with a cost-out roadmap attached, not just findings.
- Fractional or interim operating leadership
- Stepping in to run the P&L directly while a newly acquired asset stabilizes, or while permanent leadership is found.
- Network and integration design
- Consolidating two transportation, warehousing, or systems networks after a merger without losing service in the process.
- Freight and carrier renegotiation
- Running a competitive RFP where none has existed, and closing single-carrier dependency gaps.
- Compliance and safety cleanup
- Addressing HR, safety, or litigation risk that's embedded in the operation itself — usually inherited through an acquisition.
- Cross-border and international logistics
- Building customs, linehaul, and last-mile capability into markets — LATAM, EU, APAC — the network hasn't caught up to yet.
Is this the right fit?
Efficient for both sides when it's clear early.
Good fit
- $35M–$500M in revenue (or a business unit of that size inside a larger company)
- Private equity-owned, family-owned, or a division of a strategic acquirer
- Multi-site — four to sixty-plus locations, often spanning the U.S. and at least one international region
- Ecommerce/DTC, 3PL and final-mile, wholesale distribution, consumer goods, or retail fulfillment
- Living through integration, ownership transition, rapid growth, or a turnaround mandate right now
Not a fit
- Early-stage companies with no physical operations footprint yet
- Large, stable enterprises with a mature in-house ops function and no acute pain point
- Looking for strategy or slideware rather than hands-on execution
- Pure tech or software businesses with no logistics or multi-site component
Talk through a specific situation
The fastest way to know if this is a fit is a direct conversation about what's actually happening in the operation.
